Intro to Sailing

Cost: $600
Bring a partner, spouse, or friend for an additional $480 (please complete a second registration).
This basic sailing course is designed for beginners with little or no sailing experience. Included in your cost is US Sailing's Learn Sailing Right textbook, four in-person class sessions, and access to our BoatShare boats upon successful completion of the BoatShare checkout.
Each in-person session has a brief instruction period in the rigging lot followed by on the water practice. The on the water training solidifies your skills, with one instructor and two to three students per boat.
Skills include:
- Rigging
- Launching
- Points of sail
- Starting and stopping your dinghy
- Right-of-way rules
- Docking
All sessions are on the water and meet at the Lake Jacomo Marina Rigging Lot
Thursdays 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm
Saturdays 8:00 am - 12:00 pm
Remember to dress appropriately for the weather. Please bring:
- Lifejacket (we can provide as needed)
- Sunscreen
- Sunglasses
- Hat
- Water
- Snacks
- Non-slip, closed-toed shoes (quick drying preferred)
- Gloves (optional)
