About this event

Take advantage of this local offering of US Sailing's Basic Race Management Seminar. This course is a major component of becoming a certified race official with US Sailing.

The goals of the Race Officer Certification program are:

- To make racing more enjoyable by improving the quality of race management
- To standardize race management practices for the benefit of competitors and members of the race committee
- To identify qualified active race officers and make them available to event organizers
- To provide structured training and continuing education for race officers

The seminar instructor is Steve Comen.

The seminar consists of one in-person session Saturday, November 14, 2026. 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.

There is approximately 90-120 minutes of REQUIRED pre-course work prior to the in-person session. Attendance is required to complete and pass the course.

About 10 days before your course begins, you will receive an email from Canvas, inviting you to participate in the course through Canvas, US Sailing’s online learning platform. Please click the "Get Started" link to complete your profile in Canvas and access the required course materials.

The lead instructor will email you with additional course information.

US Sailing course registration fee: $40. A discounted US Sailing special introductory membership is available for first-timers during the registration process.

Ample on-site parking.

An additional fee will be collected by the club for lunch.
