What level of membership is right for you?

MEMBERSHIP ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

I/we recognize that sailing is an activity that has an inherent risk of damage and injury and hereby acknowledge and agree to participate in club activities at my/our own risk. I/we hereby waive any rights I/we may have to sue the Jacomo Sailing Club (including officers and directors) for personal injury or property damage suffered as a result of participation in club events to the fullest extent permitted by law. Membership is not refundable.

Associate Member ~ $60

$50 if renewed/enrolled before April 1

Associate Members are those who crew for race skippers or otherwise enjoy the club social activities, communications, and website, and do not skipper a boat in club races.

Racing Member ~ $200

$150 if renewed/enrolled before April 1

Racing Members are sailors who bring their own boat for club racing and other sailing activities.

  • May participate in all JSC events.
  • Qualified to race in all Sunday Club Series Races, regattas and special events, and be scored for trophies.
  • Racing Members are required to help with Race Committee a


Boatshare Keelboat Member ~ $800
$700 if renewed/enrolled before April 1

This membership level allows sailors with experience to sail our 3 keelboats. If properly handled keelboats can be more stable and forgiving allowing skippers to take family and friends sailing.  If you're interested in chartering cruising boats all over the world this is a great first step. 

  • After training and checkout, boatshare keelboat members have access to club keelboats along with dinghy boats in the Basic Membership.
  • Keelboats include the Starwind 22 "Cap'n Jack", Capri 25 "Yankee", and 23' Sonar "Good Vibrations" and are docked at the South docks. 
  • Boatshare Keelboat Members may race in all club races, regattas, and special events and are scored for trophies.

Boatshare M15 Member ~ $1,200
$1,000 if renewed/enrolled before April 1

Sail our fleet of new Melges 15s. This boat is one of the newer asymmetric spinnaker classes wit fleets growing around the country.

Boatshare M15 Membership also grants access to the entire fleet of club boats including Boatshare dinghies as well as Boatshare Keelboats.

  • Membership is capped at a maximum of 4 members per boat - you will have ample opportunity to learn and sail.
  • Members are encouraged to race in all Sunday Club Series Races, regattas and special events, and are scored for trophies. 
  • Members are expected to help with Race Committee a minimum of three days per season.
  • Membership is capped at a maximum of 4 members per boat so you will have ample opportunity to learn, sail, and enjoy.

Boatshare / M15

Boatshare Keelboat Member ~ $800

Boatshare Keelboat Membership allows sailors with experience to move up into the larger club boats. Keelboats tend to be more stable and forgiving which may allow you to take your family or guests out for a sail. This is a great first step if you're interested in chartering cruising boats in vacation destinations all over the world. 

After training and a rigorous checkout, Boatshare Keelboat members have access to our club keelboats as well as the dinghy and centerboard boats in the Basic Membership program
Keelboats include the Starwind 22'' "Cap'n Jack", the Capri 25' "Yankee", and our 23' Sonar "Good Vibrations"
Keelboats are docked at the South Docks for easy and fast access to the water.
Boatshare Keelboat Members may race in all club races including regattas and special events, and are handicap scored for trophies. Members who race regularly are expected to help with Race Committee a minimum of three days per season.

MEMBER RESPONSIBILITIES

  • As a volunteer organization we can only accomplish as much as our members are willing and can Volunteer.  We encourage everyone to be active and help in the parts of the club that interest or excite them.  Participate at a level that works for your situation - accommodations can be made.  In some cases you may be able to help a great deal, and at other times you may just be able to encourage others.  We can guarantee this: the more you are involved, the more you will get out of the club and your membership. 
  • Abide by all published club policies and by-laws.
