The racing at Jacomo Sailing Club relies on the enthusiasm of weekly Race Committee volunteers. Volunteers do not need any special knowledge or skill, only a desire to learn. However, having well trained members is essential to ensuring quality races into the future.  

We are looking to help develop volunteers into certified Club Race Officers.

A Club Race Officer is expected to be able to properly run any race normally conducted at their local sailing organization, including organizing the race committee, writing sailing instructions, and scoring the event.

The certified Club Race Officer program is administered within each US Sailing geographic area by the Area Race Officer. The Area Race Officer may certify an applicant as a Club Race Officer when all of the necessary material has been received.
