MC SCOW

The MC Scow is one of the most popular one-design fleets in North America. The scow hull design maximizes speed and provides unmatched stability with its flat bottom allowing the boat to plane in the right wind conditions. The boat is stable enough to sail single-handed while being able to accommodate a second crew member on windy days or for pleasure sailing. The MC Scow is cat rigged with two bilge boards that extend at 15 degree angles.  Ideally, the boat should be sailed at a 10 to 15 degree angle to extend the waterline and get the desired lift from the boards when down.

The large single sail area (135 SF) and the shape of the hull makes for a fast ride. Despite being only 16 feet long and weighing 420 lbs, the MC Scow can keep pace with many larger racing boats.  It will challenge your sailing skills, and provide a large support network with many opportunities to race throughout the country.
