2023 Pete Peterson Series Saturday, June 17, 2023 Sweet Sixteen Sailing Association Lake Quivira Yacht Club Lake Quivira, Kansas NOTICE OF RACE 1 RULES 1.1 The Regatta will be governed by the rules defined in The Racing Rules of Sailing. 1.2 Under RRS 87, the S16 Class Rules will apply with these amendments: Main and Jib class only. 2 ELIGIBILITY AND ENTRY 2.1 The Regatta is open to all Sweet 16 sailors 2.2 Eligible sailors are required to register at Sign Up Genius Linkto reserve a Sweet 16. LQYC will provide the skipper’s name to the front gate guard house for easy access to Lake Quivira. Anyone in the same vehicle is admitted, but if your crew arrives in a separate vehicle, please provide their name in the Signup Genius comments. 2.3 LQYC provides the yachts for the Regatta, with rudders and tillers. A life jacket must be on board for each sailor. We have four Club-owned Sweet 16s for guest sailors and many others we can borrow from an owner. Lifejackets, lines, and fabric can carry the invisible Zebra Mussel eggs. Please be cognizant. If your lifejacket, lines, or sails were in the water of another lake the two weeks before the event, please do not bring that gear. We have lines, sails, and lifejackets which can be borrowed. 3 FEES 3.1 None 4 REGATTA SERIES 4.1 The Regatta will consist of Races #1, #2 5 LOCATION 5.1 To be held at Lake Quivira, Kansas; hosted by Lake Quivira Yacht Club 6 VENUE 6.1 Lake Quivira Yacht Club Marina 7 SCHEDULE 7.1 Registration. 10:30 to 11:30 AM: i) Registration and yacht assignments. 7.2 Lunch 11:30 AM i) Burgers and hot dogs lunch provided. (Contributions welcome) You may BYO food and drink. We have a single restroom at the Yacht Club and several Men’s and Women’s restrooms inside the Main Clubhouse. We have a refrigerator, iced containers to keep drinks cold, and charcoal grills to get food hot. 7.3 Skipper’s Meeting 12:00 PM i) Skippers’ Meeting and Welcome to LQ at the Marina Pavilion 7.4 Regatta Start 1:00 7.5 Bragging and beverages 4:30 PM 8 DISCLAIMER OF LIABILITY 8.1 Competitors participate in the Regatta entirely at their own risk.
